No More Amnesty For Bandits In Zamfara, Says Matawalle

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, says his administration will no longer grant amnesty to bandits in the state.

He explained that the decision became necessary since the bandits have failed to embrace the peace initiative earlier extended to them by the state government.

Governor Matawalle stated this on Friday after attending the Jumat prayer at the Dalala Mosque in Gusau, the state capital.

Ignore IPOB-Sit-At Home Order, Obiano Tells Banks, Markets In Anambra

Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has ordered markets, banks, transport business owners, among others to ignore the sit-at-home order and go about their businesses from Monday, September 13.

The governor gave the order on Saturday after a meeting with stakeholders and members of the State Security Council.

Heads of commercial business operations including markets and transport leaders were also at the meeting held at the governor’s lodge in the state.

Truck kills okada passenger in Delta community

A yet-to-be-identified commercial motorcycle passenger was, early Saturday morning, killed by an articulated truck in Warri, Delta State.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 7 am when the tipper ran over the middle-aged female passenger on a commercial motorcycle at Mofor Junction, along Udu road in the metropolis.

The PUNCH Metro gathered that the woman was returning from a night vigil when the truck crashed on the commercial motorcycle she was riding on.

Forex: No plan to convert domiciliary accounts into naira —CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria has assured members of the public that it didn’t issue a directive to convert the foreign exchange in the domiciliary accounts of customers into naira, as falsely purported on social media.

In a circular issued on Saturday, the apex bank said that it would never contemplate such line of action, adding that the speculation is completely false and aimed at triggering panic in the foreign exchange market.

The circular which was signed by the Director of Corporate Communication, Osita Nwanisobi was titled, ‘CBN categorically denies, and strongly condemns peddlers of, rumour on domiciliary account holdings’.
