Ryan Reynolds returned to the all-new time travel adventure movie, after featuring in 6 Underground at Netflix and Red Notice. The Adam Project marks the second collaboration between the director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds, after they worked on Free Guy last year.

The Adam Project, directed by Shawn Levy, is an upcoming science-fiction movie. It was written by T.S. Bowling, Jonathan Trooper, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett. The film stars are Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, Walker Scobell, Zoe Saldana, and lastly, Catherine Keener. The film denotes a 13 Going On 30 reunion with co-stars Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner.

The Adam Project was written first by T.S. Nowlin and was publicly announced initially as “Our Name Is Adam” way back in October 2012. Paramount Pictures was super interested in buying the film, with Tom Cruise being a star. However, the film was fully revived in July 2020, after it went through development hell and was moved to Netflix. The capturing of the Adam Project film started in November 2020 in Canada, specifically Vancouver, British Columbia. The filming was concluded officially in March 2021.

Recently, Ryan Reynolds met up with the Hollywood Reporter to discuss the “magic” behind the film. 

He said that at the end of the day, the script is a very personal story to him, a story about something that he thinks every single person can attest to. He also added that he’s grateful that Netflix is committed to making movies like that, stories that are original and based on nothing more than an idea, and also get to bring them to life.

He commended them for making movies with the tone, though it’s a little bit old-fashioned with wish-fulfillment of the 80s . He stated that such a movie is a type of old-school, nostalgic and warm filmmaking that he loves.

The recent movie that Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy collaborated in was launched in August 2021. Its name was Free Guy and it is a video game-inspired movie.

This movie helped resurrect the box office for Covid 19 pandemic, for the 20th Century studios.

A total of $331 million was earned by the film worldwide.

This film is ready to be produced by Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy. This action-adventure film will be produced through their individual production banners, which state the Maximum Effort and 21 Laps Entertainment.

Presently, the Adam Project is scheduled to be released on March 11, on Netflix.
