#AFCON2021 – 2 Players Who Made Nigeria Lose The Match Against Tunisia

The Super Eagles of Nigeria won all three of their group stage matches and faced the 3rd best loser in group F in the round of 16 which happened to be the Tunisia National team which they defeated in the last tournament to win the 3rd place spot. #AFCON2021.
Tunisia hoped to get revenge against The Super Eagles after losing to them in 2019
Nigeria under the leadership of Augustine Aguavoen started the match with the following players; Maduka Okoye, Aina, William Troost Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Sanusi Zaidu, Wilfred Ndidi, Aribo, Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, and Taiwo Awoniyi.
The Tunisia coaching staff started the match with the following players; Ben Said, Haddadi, Talbi, Ifa, Drager, Laidoini, Skhiri, Slimane, Msakni, Jaziri, and Rafia.
The match started and after all the super eagles and Tunisia teams played in the first half of the match, it ended in a goalless draw.
The second half of the tournament started and Tunisia scored the first goal of the match immediately to give Tunisia the lead.
Tunisia mounted more woes upon Nigeria when they made the newly introduced Alex Iwobi receive a direct red card which reduced Nigeria to 10 men.
Below are the players who made Nigeria lose the match against Tunisia.
1.
Maduka Okoye.
The goal that Tunisia scored was an outside 18-yard box shot which the goalkeeper should have easily saved but he couldn’t.
That shot was too soft but he could not save the shot.
2. Alex Iwobi.
The attacker was introduced in the second half after Nigeria were already losing but his clumsy challenge made him receive a direct red card and Nigeria were down to 10 men.
Super Eagles of Nigeria did all they could to win the match but they lost to Tunisia 1 – 0.
Nigeria would not have lost the match if not for the errors of the above two players.
